Update for Thursday, April 30th, 14:00

30/04/2020

Dear Residents

Today there are 6 patients in Efrat and 57 who have recovered.

Yom HaAtzmaut passed without incident except for fires in the garbage bins due to burning coals.

We are preparing for the return of students in gan and in the lower grades. At this stage, the government has not made an official decision on this matter, and the information that is being published is unclear. In the meantime, we are cleaning the schools and the ganim, and we are in direct contact with the educational staff, the administration, and the security guards. We will update you as more details and instructions because available.

The government's decision depends on the estimates of medical professionals on the rate of infection in light of the easing of the restrictions. The concern is that we are likely to have a second wave of infection, and we must be prepared for it. At this juncture it is critical to wear a mask in public areas, distance yourself from others, and be vigilant about personal hygiene. The Israeli police continue to enforce these guidelines.

It is possible that the number of requests for coronavirus testing may increase in the near future.
Testing is now done through the local kupot cholim. The test is conducted by the referring physician. Testing can also be performed quickly and conveniently through MDA test sites. To get tested through MDA, send a message to Abba Richman, Medical Coordinator at  052-6071784, that includes your full name, TZ, address, cell phone number, and the name of your kupat cholim. Test results will be sent directly to the patient and to the family doctor. Abba Richman, the Moked, or the Neighborhood teams can help speed up the results process and can offer assistance in the event of a positive diagnosis.

The senior population is facing complex challenges during this period. Some businesses have dedicated special hours for the elderly in order to protect them. Please consider our senior population, give them priority and try to help them remotely.

We will continue to update as we get new guidelines.
