Daily Update for Sunday November 1st at 16:00
Dear Residents,
There are currently 3 verified patients in Efrat.
It is now possible to get tested without a referral from a family doctor. Once you have been tested you need not go into isolation unless you receive a positive result. Testing is available at the kupot cholim and at drive through stations in Jerusalem and in Givah Tzehuba near Alon Shvut in Gush Etzion.
Proactive testing increases the chance of early virus detection among residents who have no symptoms but may unknowingly be spreading infection.
The schools reopened today for grades 1-4 with an attendance rate of about 90%. We wish much success to the teaching staff and students, and we hope that this will be the beginning of a healthy routine for the school children of Efrat.
We want to take this opportunity to wish Mazal Tov to the Mishalev School on their new name, "Alumim"! We hope that in the coming weeks the school will move into its permanent home in the Dagan neighborhood.
The school transportation system has not yet resumed activity because in the existing system, each bus carried students from a mix of classes and schools, undoing the capsule system that the schools have worked so hard to maintain. We understand how difficult it is for parents to transport their children to school, and we are working to find solutions that will minimize the need for isolation in the event that an infected child rides a school bus.
Bnei Akiva's ‘Chodesh Irgun’ will open this week with strict guidelines. This year, emphasis will be placed on volunteering and the kids will work to deepen their connection with senior citizens in Efrat.
Starting this morning, it is obligatory to turn on your headlights even during the day. We are expecting rain this week, and the roads may become slippery. Please drive carefully and make sure to drive slowly in inclement weather!
Please remember: Prayer and other events such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, brit milah, and funerals, are open to up to 10 people inside a building and up to 20 people in an open area.
We encourage everyone to adhere to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health, and we recommend that you proactively get tested! We can keep Efrat green and create a healthy routine.
We will keep you updated,
The Public Information Team
