Registration for the 5787 School Year – Preschools

 

Registration for educational institutions for the 5787 school year will be conducted according to your child’s age and the residential address registered with the Ministry of Interior. Registration will take place between 1 Shevat 5786 (January 19, 2026) and 21 Shevat 5786 (February 8, 2026), and will be completed online via the Council website.

Registration Process:

Eligibility Check
According to the Compulsory Education Law, every child aged 3 and up is required to be registered and attend a recognized educational framework.

Parents of children currently attending Council preschools (5786 school year) are required to re-register.

Registration Ages for the 5787 School Year:
Age 3 – January 1, 2023 – December 31, 2023 (8 Tevet 5783 – 19 Tevet 5784)
Age 4 – January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022 (28 Tevet 5782 – 7 Tevet 5783)
Age 5 – January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021 (17 Tevet 5781 – 27 Tevet 5782)
Grade 1 – January 1, 2020 – December 31, 2020 (4 Tevet 5780 – 16 Tevet 5781)
Children born on or after January 1, 2024 cannot be registered.

Updating Personal Details
Before registering, please ensure that your updated address with the Ministry of Interior matches your place of residence for the 5787 school year.
Registration is carried out based on this address.

Completing Registration

  • Efrat residents registered in the Population Registry –
  • Residents not yet listed in the Population Registry (future residents / new residents who have not yet updated their address to Efrat) – click here
    If the website does not identify you as residents – complete registration as new residents and additionally update your address to Efrat as soon as possible.

Payments

  • Free education for ages 3 and 4 (according to the Trajtenberg Law) has been in effect since the 5775 school year.
  • The Council will collect:
    • Personal accident insurance fee
    • Voluntary payments for the culture basket
    If the Ministry of Education updates tuition rates, the amounts will be updated accordingly.

Additional Notes:

lease note: preschool placement is based on the residential address registered with the Ministry of Interior.

• Registration must be completed only during the official registration period. Any registration completed after the registration period will be subject to availability.
• Residents who have moved to Efrat and have not yet updated their address in the Population Registry are requested to do so as soon as possible in order to register online for educational institutions.
• Residents who have changed their address within Efrat and have not yet updated their address in the Population Registry are requested to do so as soon as possible in order to be placed in the preschool closest to their home.
• Students awaiting an eligibility committee decision for special education should register for regular preschools, and after receiving the committee’s decision will be placed in special education preschools by the Council.
• Parents considering keeping their child for an additional year in Gan Chova (including Mechina) are requested to complete regular registration for school via the Council website, and at the same time fill out the “Request Form to Keep a Student an Additional Year in Gan Chova” also available on the website. In addition, the school to which the child was registered must be informed of the intention to keep the child in preschool. Completing the form serves to reserve a place for the child in preschool for the 5786 school year.
