Garbage and Recycling
Individuals in Israel produce an average of approximately 2 kg of waste per day. If we multiply this figure by the number of days of the year and the number of residents in the country, this waste accumulates and reaches enormous dimensions, occupying valuable space and polluting the ground, water, and air. Most waste can be recycled, so it is very important to separate your garbage at home and throw it in the appropriate bins.
It is important to know that waste has different components. About 40% of the waste is rotten organic material (food scraps), 24% is paper and cardboard products, and the rest consists of plastic, garden materials, glass, construction waste, and more.
The Shefa Department is responsible for cleaning the streets and public areas, and collecting garbage and recycling. The trash removal schedule is fixed and we increase it during the holidays.
