"Ohr Torah Derech Avot" is a community Torah high school which is part of the Ohr Torah Stone Network, founded by Rabbi Shlomo Riskin and chaired by Rabbi Katriel Brander.
Derech Avot is a large, religious, educational community (approximately 500 students), and it provides a quality solution to the wide range of students who come from Efrat, Gush Etzion, the Adulam region, and Jerusalem. The school is open to all students who wish to study in a state-run, non-boarding school setting, in a relaxed atmosphere that builds students’ confidence.
In order to provide a broad and high-quality education for all of our students, we have several our tracks:
Dvir Track - Beit Midrash track for in-depth Torah study.
Dvir Track includes: a program to increase students' proficiency in Jewish texts, and a program that introduces students to Jewish communities around the world.
Ofek Track - aimed at students with good academic abilities who are interested in expanding their horizons, gaining knowledge, and experiencing different areas of learning.
Ofek Track includes: Study of Navi at Herzog College in Alon Shvut. High-level Bible studies using new pedagogy and advanced technology, weekly volunteering within the community, additional lessons in law and society, Arabic, young entrepreneurs, and more.
Shachar Track - a general and personal study track for students who sometimes have difficulty learning.
Shacar Track includes: An empowerment program for personal motivation and academic ability, a program where students meet people of action and vision in the various fields of Israeli activity, the 'Well' program which deepens connections between students and the Land of Israel.
We also have a special education track that includes intro classes and communication classes that help students integrate into the school in an optimal way.
We offer a large variety of majors, including: Electronics and computer engineering, computer science, physics, biology, art, Arabic, cinema, history, and more.
Our rich social programming includes: seminars, lectures and meetings with exemplary figures in society, class activities, volunteer activities, sports tournaments, and more.
