Efrat is located close to villages in the Palestinian Authority. The basic premise of the Veterinary Services at the Ministry of Agriculture is that rabies is present in the Palestinian Authority, and therefore, any animal that comes from the PA may be infected.

Domestic cats which spend some time outside the home may come in contact with an infected animal without the owner knowing. This cat may then go on to infect other animals and even humans.

Certain cities mandate that cats must be vaccinated against rabies, but Efrat has no such law. However, for public health reasons, Efrat's veterinary service strongly recommends that all cats who spend time out of the house be vaccinated against rabies.

Cats can be vaccinated through the Council without added costs.

Cost of rabies vaccination for cats through the Council:

For an unspayed/unneutered cat  - 29.5 NIS

For a spayed/neutered cat - 14.5 NIS

Vaccinate your cat for the health of your children and your family!
