Dear Residents,
As part of Efrat's 40th anniversary celebrations, there will be a special sports event this Friday, October 28, 2022, that will include a race with 3 different routes, a celebratory parade, and a sports happening for all ages in Park HaAssor.
We are working to ensure the safety of the participants without causing unnecessary disruption to the regular routine of our residents. Roads will be blocked from approximately 09:15 until 11:00.
Estimated hours of road closures:
The Zayit and the Dekel Neighborhoods
The streets that will be closed to vehicle traffic from 9:15 - 10:30:
Rachel Imenu Blvd (from the traffic circle at the Sheep Park to the Zayit traffic circle)
David HaMelech Blvd. (from the Zayit traffic circle to the Zerubavel traffic circle)
Zerubavel St. (from Zerubavel traffic circle to the turn on to the Western security road)
The Gefen Neighborhood
The streets that will be closed to vehicle traffic from 9:15 - 11:00:
David Hamelech Blvd. (from the starting point heading south to the south gate)
The streets that will be closed to vehicle traffic from 9:15 - 11:00:
Hagafen St. (from the the tennis court to the Eitan traffic circle)
King David Blvd. (from the starting point heading south to a few meters before the Eitan traffic circle) will be closed from 12:00 - 12:30 for the parade.
Please Note! The Eitan traffic circle will remain open to traffic starting at 11:00.
David Hamelech Blvd. to Shayarot St. will be closed from 8:00 to 12:30. Traffic will be rerouted to Netzach Yerushalayim St.
The Te’ena and Rimon Neighborhoods
The streets that will be closed to vehicle traffic from 9:15 - 10:30:
HaTe’ena St. (from the Eitan traffic circle to Boaz St.)
Boaz St. (from Te’ena St. to the ambulance gate)
Dagan and Tamar Neighborhoods - there will be no roadblocks.

All races start and end on David Hamelech Blvd above Park HaAssor (beneath the Machar parking lot).
10 km route (starts at 9:30)
The starting point - David Hamelech Blvd. going south - Eitan traffic circle - HaTe’ena St. - Boaz St. - Ambulance Gate - Security Road - Workers Gate - Rachel Imenu Blvd. - Zerubavel - Western Security Road - Hagafen St. - Eitan traffic circle - King David Blvd. towards the north - end point
5 km route (starts at 10:00)
The starting point - David Hamelech Blvd. going south - Eitan traffic circle - HaTe’ena St. - Boaz St. - Ambulance Gate - Eastern Security Road - Dirt road connecting to the security road - Eastern security road - Machar parking lot - Hero's Trail - King David Blvd. - end point
2 km route (starts at 9:45)
Starting point - King David Blvd. going south - South entrance gate - David Hamelech Blvd. going north - end point
Walking route (1.5 km - starts at 12:00)

How can I keep up to date with the road conditions?
We will update via Facebook, the Council’s Telegram, or you can call the road update line at 02-9939377.
Please refrain from calling the Moked except in cases of emergency.
Will there be school on Friday?
Yes, the educational institutions will operate as usual.
Are there any changes to the student transportation system in Efrat?
In the morning, the bus system will operate as usual.
In the afternoon the buses may be slightly delayed.
Are there any changes to the transportation system for special education?
Parents of special education students will receive individual notifications regarding transportation changes.
Are there any changes in the public transportation system in Efrat?
Yes, the 360 and 377 from Jerusalem to Efrat will be canceled from 09:00-12:30, the first bus will leave at 12:30.
The 377 and 360 from Efrat to Jerusalem will be canceled from 09:00-13:00, the first bus will depart at 13:00.
The 410 - the 9:00 bus will not enter Efrat, the bus will continue from the Shayarot Etzion junction (Efrat North) to the Efrat South junction.
The 364 and 365 will not enter Efrat.
When will the traffic system return to normal?
At 11:00 all roads are expected to be open to traffic, but there may still be congestion. From 12:00-12:30 the road will be closed again from the starting point up to a few meters before the Eitan traffic circle.
Is it permitted to drive on the security roads in Efrat?
No, the race routes will go through the security roads from 9:15 - 11:00. In addition, these roads are reserved for security vehicles only.
Are workers allowed to enter on the day of the race?
Entry of workers will begin at 11:00.
Will the Yafit Center and the fitness center be open on the day of the event?
No. But as part of the event, there will be classes from the Yafit Center and other sports activities for the general public.
Will the library operate as usual?
Yes, the library will be open to the public as usual.
I signed up for the race. Where do I get my race kit?
On the day of the race starting at 8:00 at the starting point.
Where should I park?
Park on the nearby streets and please avoid blocking private parking spaces.
Is there a place to store my things?
No.
What time will the medal ceremony take place?
11:00, in Park HaAssor
